All day crop at The inked Stamper...

On Dec 30th i went to an all day crop at The Inked Stamper. I am pretty sure i do way more scrapbooking when i have a boo boo...lol. I got six pages done, yes that's right six pages done at that day crop. Usually i am lucky if i get two pages done and one altered project. I have the gift of gab and yes i tend to use my gift a lot :)

Here are the pages i did at the day crop...

Christmas break....

So over Christmas i went tobogganing with the family, and you would think this is a simple task, shall we say childs play? Well that's a big fat no!!! It would seem that i am able to hurt myself no matter what the situation! So to make a long story short, as we were racing down the hill on the toboggan my foot slipped off, i stuck my heel into the ground and the toboggan kept going! OUCH is all i have to say!!! I decided that i would pull up my big girl panties and i wasn't going to let no hill or little accident get the best of me...so there! So i hobbled half way back up that hill and sat down and took pictures of everyone having a good time. Well the next morning i couldn't even get out of bed, i couldn't even bend my knee, so off we go to emerge! Well i tore the ligaments in my knee and they informed me that it would take at least 6 weeks to heal and some physio! So they strapped me into this crazy brace that goes from the top to the bottom of my leg and makes me look crazy....or crazier...lol. So that was that! So while i'm down south with my bum leg, feeling sorry for myself, sitting uselessly on my mom's couch, i get a phone call from my bestie friend Jess and partner in crime! She found us a crop to attend in Edmonton, a day crop. So she drives an hour and a half out of her way to pick me up to take me to this all day crop, at a store called The Inked Stamper. Well let me tell you ladies, what a store and what an awesome day crop! The women's name is Dawn, and is simply amazing! Great people, great crop, great prizes and the food....simply amazing! Plus Jess explained i had an accident and they completey set me up so that i had plenty of space, and because of my crazy brace, everything was made accessable to give me freedom to move around without damaging my leg any further! WOW is all i can say, it was so wonderful (and rare) to find that kind of treatment! I would go anytime without hesitation to a crop at The Inked Stamper. Thank you Jess for introducing me to such an amazing store, and thank you The Inked Stamper (Dawn) for a great crop and for the wonderful heartfelt hospitality!

Another Tray...

Here is another tray i did when i was at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton. I really love this tray. This tray is approximately 12x16 inches. I just need to get some stubby pearl stick pins for the cork area and it's finished, i just haven't found anything i like yet :)

Burlap Flower

Ok, so i've had this burlap flower idea in my head for the last few days, so tonight i headed down to my art room to see if i could muster up the creation that was rolling around in my mind. I am very pleased with the way it turned out! I just took a gluber by Cosmo Cricket and some burlap (which you can get in rolls at Michaels) and some pleated netting trim, then took one of these funky vintage metal buttons i have, and presto this is what you get......

Karen Foster 3-D Peek-A-Box Advent Calendar

So for the last week i have been working on a couple of advent calendars for my children. I picked up two of the Karen Foster 3-D Peek-A-Box advent calendars, and a couple packages of Echo Park's Holly Jolly Christmas 12 x 12 paper packs. I also dug out the copics and used CTMH (Close to my Heart) stamp set Share the Magic (D1443). Such a cute set, and so much you can do with it!

I ended up making four calendars, two for my children and two for a friends children. I made two versions of the advent calendar using the same paper pack. One for the boys using green and reds, and one for the girls using pinks and mint greens. Both are equally cute but the color difference is such a contrast that it's hard to believe the paper all came from the same pack!

So i started with the stamped images and then colored them in with the copics. I just tried to match the paper the best i could so that there wasn't a huge contrast between my paper and my stamped images!

Here is a close up of the Santa i used.

The boy version...a work in progress!

The finished poduct of the boy version.

And this is the girl version! It's hard to believe it's the same paper pack, crazy, but i love it.

This is one of the resons i love Echo Park so much. I like the variety in each paper pack, it leaves the creativity door open SO wide!!!! Anyway, that is my Christmas project done, now onto finishing my Christmas cards!
